New Release: A Time for Everything
The war might be over, but their battle has just begun…
Hiya!! I’d like to show you a bit about my new release, A Time for Everything. It’s a Civil War/Restoration era novel about a Confederate widow and a Union veteran who find love while trying to survive in a country that’s still reeling from the aftermath of war.
Check it out:
After losing her husband and only child to the ravages of the Civil War, twenty-five-year-old Portia McAllister is drowning in grief. When she sees an ad for a live-in tutor in another town, she leaves everything behind in hopes of making a fresh start. But as a Confederate widow in a Union household, she is met with resentment from her new charge and her employer, war veteran Beau Stanford.
Despite their differences, she and Beau find common ground and the stirrings of a second chance at love—until his late wife’s cousin, Lydia, arrives with her sights set on him. Burdened with a farm on the brink of bankruptcy, Beau is tempted by Lydia’s hefty dowry, though Portia has captured his heart.
In another time and another place, his choice would be easy. But love seems impossible amid the simmering chaos of Reconstruction that could boil over at any moment into an all-out battle for survival. Will Beau and Portia find their way into each other’s arms, or will they be swept away by raging forces beyond their control?
New Release: Turning His Life Around
Hello and welcome back to the Turning His Life Around blog tour! I am doing something a little different with this tour and, I’ve put together a running short story. This story happens a couple of years before Turning takes place, when Ian is learning he’s in love with Kane but hasn’t quite accepted what all that means for him yet, since Kane doesn’t return that love.
The story goes for all nine tour stops! You can start it at Charley Descoteaux’s blog and follow the rest of the tour from the link at the bottom.
Be sure to catch each one because everyone who reads all nine and can answer a scavenger hunt questionnaire based on the story will be entered to win $25 a Dreamspinner Press!

Simon Williams spends his lunch periods drawing his geek and trying not to think about the terrors waiting for him at home. He needs to get away from his abusive father before he suffers the same grisly fate as his mother. Because he’s learned the hard way running away doesn’t work, he’s counting the days until his eighteenth birthday.
Jimmy Bennet should be spending his lunch studying so his senior GPA is good enough to get him into college, but he can’t seem to focus thanks to his distracting artist. When he’s given the opportunity to tutor Simon in Trig and discovers Simon’s home-life nightmare, he wants nothing more than to get Simon out of danger. This need becomes more urgent when Simon comes to school the Monday after their first date with bruises, but it takes a broken leg before Jimmy can convince his boyfriend the Bennets really want him.
But the danger Simon thought was past shows up at the most unexpected time, and he must stand up to the fears he’s held so long to protect not only himself, but the man he wants to spend his life with. Continue reading New Release: The Geek and His Artist
New Release: Threefold Love
Hello! I’m Ki Brightly. It’s absolutely lovely of Tricia to have my book on her blog. (Thank you!) Threefold Love was a fun book to write. I fell in love with the characters, and as accomplished as I felt when I finally typed the last word, I was kind of sad to be done with the book. Xavier was fun to write because it hurt, in a good way, to watch him opening up to Andrew, and then Duncan. Andrew was a mess when he realized he wanted Xavier, and then again when he realized he wanted the man in his life for keeps, not just because he was sexy. Andrew was fun to write because he’s smart and kind of geeky, but in a cute way. I liked Duncan because if he hadn’t been the man he was, this entire book could have turned into a red, hot angsty mess that no one could have scraped off the floor, not even with a squeegee and a bucket and ten gallons of Mr. Clean. Plus, he has an enduring love with an evil cat.
I think, all said and done, one of my favorite characters from this book is someone not mentioned on the back cover-Curtis. He’s Andrew’s little brother and he’s a ball of miserable anger. Really, he’s not happy until he’s upsetting someone else, which doesn’t sound very endearing, but there’s obviously something going on beneath the surface there. Since I couldn’t stop thinking and dreaming about these characters he’s going to be front and center for the next book, but before I get there with him, I hope you enjoy Threefold Love. Happy reading!

New Release: Devils in the Dark
Today I have the pleasure of announcing the release of Book 1 of The Devil in Miss Drake’s Class Trilogy, Devils in the Dark by Marcus Damanda! I am happy I got to work on this book and can’t wait to see how the trilogy comes together!
In the first installment, high school freshman Audrey Bales attracts the attention of Alastair Hutchinson, master of 1000 ghosts—1000 childhood suicides—who live only to wreak vengeance against those who would prey upon the weak …
This is a YA Horror novel, and trust me, it gets creepy. 🙂
To most of the Facebook Fifteen, bullying Audrey Bales was just a game—until two deep cuts with a Swiss Army knife changed everything forever. Audrey didn’t want attention anymore. After five weeks at Fairview High School, Audrey wanted to die.
The doctors did the only thing they could with her: they put her away.
But in Fairview, Virginia, the nightmare is only beginning. The chat session had not gone unobserved. The Facebook Fifteen have drawn the attention of an ancient evil that lives only to punish those who would prey upon the weak.
They are the ghosts of 1,000 dead children—1,000 suicides—and their master…
Their master likes Audrey Bales.
And as Audrey attempts to heal her mind and body, far from home, their master prepares for the revenge he will unleash upon her return.
