Free Read: Christmas Comes to Oddleton

If you’re looking for a read to get you into the holiday spirit, check out Christmas Comes to Oddleton. I’ve had the pleasure to work on this book, and it is a wonderful, funny read! Dulcie captures the spirit of each and every character as they perform the Christmas play… not quite as intended.

Christmas Comes to Oddleton will be FREE Oct. 12, 19, and 20.

Oddleton cover - fullsizeBlurb:

For the teacher Mrs Troyd, the pressure is on.

Christmas is coming to the little parish of Oddleton, and for Mrs Troyd Christmas means the children’s Nativity play, awaited with great anticipation (or in some cases, trepidation) by the whole congregation.

This year, however, all is not going quite as planned. Joseph is too shy to speak out loud enough to be heard. The little angels are squabbling over which way up to hold the Baby Jesus, and to top it all, Mrs Troyd’s nemesis, Arianna le Grand, has taken her children (the Angel Gabriel and the Third King) on an unexpected skiing holiday.

Who will stand in for the Angel Gabriel? Was it an unwise move for the Shepherd to have eaten three packets of Sour Squigglers and a Whistling Dayglo-pop before the play? And did donkeys wear sombreros in Ancient Palestine?

Whatever happens, this will be a Nativity the parishioners will remember for a very long time….

But did they bring the enemy with them? “Mini”, the strange and speechless young girl they rescued from the Hollows, is not as she seems. Why was Elder Michael keeping her locked up? What is she hiding?

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day Twelve

The Why:

I’ve decided that I wanted to do something nice for the authors that have given me paperback review copies or have let me edit their work. So, in the hopes of getting them some more exposure and reviews, I’ve come up with a “Twelve Days of Christmas” giveaway. Every day until Christmas, I’ll be giving one paperback that I’ve reviewed &/or worked on. I do ask that you consider reviewing the book that you win, as this can always help the author and future readers!

The Book:

Christmas Lites II 5th version printToday’s book is last for a reason. It’s the Christmas Lites II anthology, and it is one I’m very happy to be a part of. Not only do I have a story published in this book, but I also had the pleasure of working with some wonderful authors/editors who donated their time to making this book happen.

You see, 100% of this book’s profits goes to charity. That’s right, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence receives money for every book purchased. So, even if you don’t win, pick one up and help out a worthy charity. There’s bit more info in my new release post and the blurb below, or you can check out the NCADV’s website.

Blurb:

The Book:

SecretsFrontToday’s book is Secrets of a Universe by H. Brian Rawson. It turns out I probably interacted with Rawson when I was a teenager and didn’t even know it. Luckily for me, he ran into a mutual friend and we got in contact. I worked really hard on this book and I think it has a lot of potential! There is action, adventure, romance, “other” beings, and loveable characters all driving this book. I’m really looking forward to some reviews on this one!

Krystal Taylor has been under the military’s thumb since birth. Her power of astral projection requires it — without daily Mindkey treatments, she will die a horrible death. She wants freedom from her leash, the freedom to let her flesh and blood, not just her mind, experience the world.

While on an unauthorized hiking expedition, designed to give her some space from her spying duties and the hundreds of government agents and prying scientists who keep her alive, she is captured by a band of terrorists, threatening much more than her life. Unless Dan Parker, the director of the Mindkey Project, and Dr. George Larkin, its key scientist, can reach her in time, the entire planet may fall into the clutches of the worst terrorist mankind has ever produced.

From the farthest reaches of outer space to the inner depths of the planet Earth, every soul — dead or alive — waits, unknowingly, for Krystal to be found — or turned into a weapon.
