New Release: Pimp ur Blog Episode Two

I’m pleased to announce the release of Pimp ur Blog Episode Two: Increase Search Results with Articles and Feeds by Paul Rice and Messie Jessie!

Paul had recently asked me to review Episode One, but then emailed me to be his editor! While maintaining the overall “voice” of the piece, we worked together to make both Episode One and Two a little more concise for readers, and I think it’s turned out well.

If you’re looking for ways to get better search results or just need an intro into SEO for bloggers, check out this series. Paul and Messie Jessie do a good job of showing (with pictures!) what they are doing with the programs they use to increase exposure.

You can get Episode One and Episode Two on Amazon.

New Release: Conditioned Response (Phoenician #2)

I’m proud to announce the release of Conditioned Response (Phoenician #2) by Marjorie F. Baldwin (aka Friday)!

I had the pleasure of working with Friday on this book as an editor/proofreader. I have fallen in love with Raif and can’t wait to read all about him in Book 1! But until then, come meet him and Shayla, and see who’s plan it really is!

Blurb:

The Seven Chiefs have a Plan for all life on Altair. The Seven Chiefs have a Plan for all death on Altair. The Seven Chiefs have a Plan for almost everything on Altair–but they never planned on Raif.

#

Shayla didn’t ask to be a Councillor. A Phoenician shouldn’t have to live among the humans, let alone take part in their world. She only came here when the Seven Chiefs ordered her to go with Raif, a Proctor from the world Outside. They said they had a Plan. The Seven Chiefs always had a Plan, but Shayla had made plans of her own now, after 13 years of life under the World Council.

Raif had never intended for things to go this far. A few months, maybe a year, and he could send the little Phoenician girl home again, back where she belonged. Where she’d be safe. Even a Proctor couldn’t protect her from the World Council. He couldn’t protect himself. The Seven Chiefs had gotten him started on a quest for answers about his own genetic history and the further he dug into it, the more questions he had. After producing a Designated Heir, Raif finds himself in competition with his own progenitor for control of his future and Shayla seems to be the only one who can save him now.

But nothing is as it seems and no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Who will live and who will die–and whose Plan is this anyway?

Conditioned Response is available at Smashwords: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/150558

Review: Conditioned Response

Conditioned Response
Conditioned Response by Marjorie F. Baldwin

There’s always a Plan.

The World Council is corrupt, but Shayla has a plan for that. After 13 years living with the humans as the only Phoenician in the Outside, Shayla is making her own plans, instead of defaulting to the Seven Chiefs – who got her into this mess to begin with! At least she has Raif with her, ever caring for and guiding her along. But things are set in motion that she can’t control, Shayla must finish what she started – before it’s too late.

The story is told by several of the characters, letting the reader get a glimpse of what motivates them and what hides beneath the surface. Hints of past transgressions and future possibilities abound as the Councillor and Proctor try to prepare for anything and everything the humans and Phoenicians can Throw at them.

A gripping tale speckled with war, conspiracy, love and loss, Conditioned Response explores the future of humanity as they interact with the Phoenicians, trying to live together on the Phoenician planet in peace. With advanced technology and mind-tampering, AI’s and repros, Conditioned Response is a must-read for sci-fi lovers.

Status Update: Editing Schedule

So, it’s been a while since I’ve done an update, so I feel it’s about time.

I’ve had a lot of work going on with Splitter for his books and blog tour, but my role in that is mostly done until he gets his next draft done. The few other projects I’ve gotten in between then and now are done, with the exception of the sci-fi piece. The sci-fi piece has a lot of potential, but it does need revised a fair bit before I’d call it shelf-worthy. I will probably need a few beta readers for it as well, so if anyone is interested please let me know.

So, I’m in the market for a few new pieces to work on in the upcoming months. Depending on the length, I would ideally like to take on another 2-3 projects for March/early April. I work mostly with Indies, and in any genre, though I prefer fantasy and paranormal.

Guest Interview: Tiny

Today I’m happy to announce our guest is from two of the books I’ve edited in the past year, The Reluctant and The Willing, by C.S. Splitter. Though he was unable to make it himself – I hear he’s busy with a blog tour – Splitter has been kind enough to send Tiny in his place. While these books follow Tom Crayder around, Tiny has been making a name for himself in them as well. He comes up with interesting ways to help Tom in some sticky situations and is always good for a laugh.

I hear he has a cult following online, too.

So, with that, here’s Tiny!

Print Versions Are Available!

I’m completely stealing this post from Splitter. This is EXCITING news!

I know a bunch of people want print copies and I cannot thank you enough for the support you have shown me.

The books are due to be released through Amazon on February 14th, but I just found out that I can make them available on CreateSpace (an Amazon company) NOW.

As a “Thank You” to the people who have given me that support, I am going to go ahead and offer them early through CreateSpace to my friends on Facebook and people that follow my blog and Twitter.

Plus, there is a discount code which can be used for both books on CreatSpace to receive $1.00 off each book:  VZ3KMHHA

Direct links:
The Reluctant
The Willing

The list prices on the books are $8.99 and $9.99 respectively.  Yes, they are less expensive than most trade paperbacks on the market and we did that on purpose.  We make the same on them (without the discount coupon) as we do on the $2.99 eBooks.

If you were waiting for a print copy, there you go.  Hope you enjoy!

The Willing – Release Day!

The day is upon us! “The Willing” by C.S. Splitter (edited by yours truly) is for sale! Go here to buy it from Smashwords.  While you’re there, be sure to pick up The Reluctant as well!

As a special treat for Release Day, I present to you an interview between editor and author!  Splitter was kind enough to go back and forth with me on this, so that we have a pretty unique post that perhaps gives authors, editors, and readers better insight about what goes on behind the scenes.

I hope you enjoy! I warn you, it’s long… Continue reading The Willing – Release Day!

Status Update: AHHH!

Well, it’s almost here.  Next week.  You know what happens next week, right?

No, other than the Turkey Day.

The Willing will be released!

Splitter and I are both working hard to put the finishing touches on this novel as well as his first one, The Reluctant.  Both books have gotten some wonderful reviews; so far The Willing has 5 stars!  While it might not last, a girl’s gotta dream.  Big.

Hopefully by the end of this week, we should have a co-interview to post about how we got together and became best buddies and took a trip to Aruba…not really, but it is about how we “hooked up” and it should be a fun read.

Also, Christmas Lites is scheduled to release Nov. 25!

In light of that (ha, see, I’m punny), my pal Jenn (always 2 “N’s”) interviewed me!  You can check out our chat at her blog: http://www.indiesupporter.com.  She helped make this book possible, and is featuring other folks that helped do the same!  It was my first ever interview, and I was a bit nervous, but I think it turned out wonderfully!

So, with all this excitement going around, who needs turkey!
