Blog Tour: Hope

Hi all! Today I have the pleasure of sharing one of the Forbes Mates books by Grace R. Duncan. Hope is the fifth story in the Forbes Mates series, which takes place in the good ol’ town of Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.

I’ve worked with Grace on many (all?) of her titles, and her writing continues to get stronger and more vivid. And yes, I did know her favorite author. 🙂

First, of course, is thanks to Tricia for giving me space today. I really appreciate it!

Which of your books is your favorite?

Eek! This is a hard one. There are so many different genres I write in that it’s hard to pick one. For the BDSM, I think Beautiful boy. That was one that just grabbed me and before I knew it, half of it was written. For the paranormal, I’m really torn between Patience and Acceptance. I love the humor I was able to write into Patience, but Quincy is probably my favorite of all my characters and I really want to write more with him.

Tell us about your first published book? What was the journey like?

I was equal parts terrified and excited when I started on the journey that ended with the published Choices. It was supposed to be Alternate Universe (AU) fanfiction, but I was challenged to make it original and despite the terror of original characters, with encouragement from a few (including one Greekbread over another OC she loved), I did it. The editing journey alone was huge. Tricia deserves a medal for the hand-holding she did through that. But I learned so much and would do it all over again.

Can you share with us something about Hope that isn’t in the blurb?

The boys have just graduated high school at the beginning of the story. Neither knows what the immediate future holds and that fear keeps them from thinking even farther ahead. If you’ve read any of my stories, you know I write HEA when I can and at least HFN when HEA isn’t possible. So you know Hope ends well. It’s not too much to give away that the boys end up in Forbes State Forest in southwestern Pennsylvania with the rest of the dorks in the Forbes pack (don’t tell Quincy I called him a dork. He’d kill me. 😉 ). Miguel always knew what he wanted to do–Luis not so much. But I’m happy to say, not long after the story ends, Luis finds out. And if you’ve read Forgiveness, let’s just say he’ll be spending a lot of time with Eric. If you haven’t read Forgiveness, perhaps you might like to. 😉

Who is your favorite author and why?

Okay, at least it’s not my favorite kid. Wait, that might be easier. Okay, okay. It’s not entirely impossible. There’s one author–and series–I will go back to when I can’t read anything else. In fact, if I got stranded on a deserted island with nothing but his books, I’d probably be fine for the rest of my life. If Tricia doesn’t know this, then I fear for our friendship. J.R.R. Tolkien and his hobbits, elves, dwarves, and Men will forever be something I can read, reread, and re-reread. (TK, should that one be hyphenated? LOL!)

If you could only have one season, what would it be?

Autumn. I miss Pittsburgh’s fall. Where I am now (Dallas, Texas), I don’t get a fall. We have something vaguely resembling Summer-lite (Diet Summer?) here a couple of weeks before the two weeks of pseudo-winter we gett. Then an almost-kinda-Spring before we’re back to summer. I miss *wanting* pumpkin spice and baking and leaf burning and all the lovely fall things. Maybe someday.

Thank you again to Tricia for giving me space for my tour. I really appreciate it! ❤ She’s an amazing editor and if you ever need anything edited, you should go to her! *nods* She rocks!

Hope, part of the Forbes Mates series
Length: 13,000 words
Genre: m/m paranormal shifters

Miguel Garcia and Luis Rodriguez have been best friends all their lives. For the last year, they’ve been hiding the fact that they’re also destined mates. When Luis’s family finds out, they kick him out. Miguel’s family would keep them… except their alpha has been known to be downright violent against gay wolves.

With the help of Miguel’s mother, they set out to find a pack that will accept them. They run into more that a few obstacles before they end up in Denver, at the national wolf headquarters, meeting the alpha prime. They’re stunned to find, not only offers to join more than one pack, but that their struggle can shine light on a bigger problem–and make things better for LGBT wolves across the country.

Hope is available on September 6, 2019 exclusively at Amazon and on Kindle Unlimited.

noh8About Grace:

Grace Duncan grew up with a wild imagination. She told stories from an early age – many of which got her into trouble. Eventually, she learned to channel that imagination into less troublesome areas, including fanfiction, which is what has led her to writing male/male erotica.

A gypsy in her own right, Grace has lived all over the United States. She has currently set up camp in East Texas with her husband and children – both the human and furry kind.

As one of those rare creatures who loves research, Grace can get lost for hours on the internet, reading up on any number of strange and different topics. She can also be found writing fanfiction, reading fantasy, crime, suspense, romance and other erotica or even dabbling in art.
